Valea Zânelor clay castle

The "Valea Zânelor" clay castle is a private project that started in March 2014, which is based on the concept "natural fairy tale house". The project covers the accommodation unit, the clay castle, a restaurant, souvenir shop, children playgrounds and many other story-telling activities. The "castle" is built exclusively of natural materials, each room or apartment having individual entrance and benefits from the magic views to the Porumbacu River and the Fagaras Mountains.

The finishing with exclusively natural plastering of each room generates a unique shape and design, modeled by organic forms of cob, the castle and the line perfectly penetrates the enchanting landscape of nature. The dynamism is conferred by the roof inspired by the peaks of the mountains and to preserve the specificity of the place and the narrative line, all the materials and finishes used are natural, non-toxic.

The fortified church from Cisnădioara

The fortified church in Cisnădioara is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Sibiu county. It was built on the top of a hill, from the town of the same name, at the beginning of the 12th century, between 1162-1223. This is a stone church surrounded by walls, also made of stone, which had a defence role. The church and the walls can still be admired today. In addition to its beauty and history, the church is also known for the fact that it houses the oldest pipe organ in Romania in functional condition (built in the 18th century). Due to its very good acoustics, many concerts and cultural events are still organized here.

If you arrive in Cisnădioara and go up to the stone church you will not regret it, because, apart from the fact that you will visit one of the oldest monuments of this kind in Transylvania, you will also have a magnificent panorama of the village and its surroundings.

Transfăgărășan is one of the longest and most spectacular mountain roads in our country. The road covers a length of 92 km, on the territories of Argeș and Sibiu counties and crosses, from south to north, the Făgăraș Mountains, making the connection between the historical regions of Muntenia and Transylvania.

Among the tourist attractions that can be visited along the road are the Vidraru lake and dam, Capra river valley, Capra waterfall, the "Golul Alpin al Munților Făgăraș" Nature Reserve and the "Golul Alpin Bâlea" Nature Reserve (which includes glacier lake and waterfall Balea)

Due to the fact that the road is at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, where the average annual temperatures are low, which leads to the early appearance of snowfall, part of the Transfăgărășan is open only a few months a year, from June to November.
